Laura McGlynn has been appointed as the sales and marketing manager with Ravenport Resort in Wexford. Laura brings a wealth of hospitality industry experience to the role, with a proven track record in sales and marketing roles with hotels. She was previously the area sales and marketing manager for the Talbot Collection Wexford, managing marketing strategies for multiple properties. Before that, she was marketing and events manager for Coast Hotel & Resorts, where she played a pivotal role in driving successful marketing initiatives across various locations. Ravenport Resort is set to officially open in July. Located on a 75-hectare site alongside Wexford’s Curracloe beach.
Damon Warnock has been appointed as director of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology Centre (PMTC) at University of Limerick, situated within UL’s Bernal Institute. He brings a wealth of experience having worked for global biopharmaceutical company Alkermes and previously with Irish firm Elan. Damon has a unique insight into the importance of the PMTC, having collaborated with the centre on several projects. PMTC is an applied research and innovation centre uses advanced technology and analytics to address contemporary manufacturing for the pharmaceutical sector. Damon said he was looking forward to his new role as director to guide PMTC in its next phase of development.
Dr Fiona Grant, head of international programmes, Marine Institute, has been appointed as chair of the European Marine Board (EMB). She brings two decades of dedicated service in the field of marine science to the role, having led numerous ocean sustainability and conservation initiatives. She is a actively involved in the Marine Institute’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group, promoting an inclusive work environment. As chair of the EMB, Fiona will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of marine research in Europe. She will guide the strategic direction of the organisation, championing its commitment to excellence in marine research, policy advice, and outreach.
Niamh Marshall has been appointed to the board of Greencoat Renewables. She succeeds Kevin McNamara, who has stepped down as chair of Greencoat’s audit committee, and remains on the board until the end of 2024. Niamh also joins the board’s management engagement, nomination and remuneration committees. A former senior audit partner at KPMG Ireland, Niamh was the first female partner named at KPMG Ireland in 1996. Since leaving that role in 2022. she has held board roles in industries, including financial services, agriculture and sport. Niamh holds a Commerce degree from UCD and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accounts in Ireland.
Declan O’Riordan has been appointed as global decarbonization lead with climate action solutions provider Climeaction. He will lead efforts in decarbonisation, establishing long term strategic partnerships in the global manufacturing sector, including life sciences, food and dairy, and technology; he will implement strategies to reduce carbon emissions and drive meaningful and impactful change for client companies. Declan previously held lead roles with Cushman and Wakefield, Johnson and Johnson and EPS. He has a proven track record in developing and implementing innovative sustainability strategies and business development. “Our services assist many companies in overcoming the challenges in meeting and exceeding their climate action goals,” said Declan.
Anthony Nilan has been appointed as director of programming with Virgin Media Television, reporting to Áine Ní Chaoindealbháin, VMTV’s managing director. Since joining VMTV ten years ago, he has worked in commissioning and more recently as head of content strategy. Anthony will deliver on VMTV’s public service remit, overseeing the networks non-news and sport output, including commissions, acquisitions, and scheduling for five linear channels and VMTV’s VOD service. He previously worked for nine years in the independent sector, producing some Irish TV shows such as The Apprentice, The Voice, and Dragons Den. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from TU Dublin.
