EH&S Specialist, Project Support (12M, Cork)

EH&S SPECIALIST, PROJECTS SUPPORT required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational Pharma client in Co. Cork. Initial 12 month contract on offer.

The EH&S SPECIALIST, PROJECTS SUPPORT will have a technical degree, experience in a pharma environment and will acts as an SME and advisor to all project teams on site in relation to EHS legislation and Standards.

THE ROLE:

• Conduct EHS Impact Assessments (IA) as part of Management of Change process to ensure that all EHS requirements and J&J standards are incorporated.
• Implement ‘EH&S by Design’ & OneCSS as required for projects
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, JSAs, noise /IH/ergonomics / WRAPs (machine safety) assessments, FATs / SATs, and walkdowns as required
• Support IA action closure & tracking
• Perform periodic walkdowns / audits / programme reviews to ensure compliance with PTW requirements, IED licence, SOPs & regulatory requirements.
• Collating and reporting of relevant metrics / KPIs
• Lead / participate in incident / accident investigations & root cause analyses (RCA)
• PTW Improvements – work with other functions to drive improvements in the site PTW process

REQUIREMENTS:

• She/he will have a strong EHS general/technical knowledge and experience in the Bio/Pharma industry or equivalent, be a strong effective communicator with all stakeholders.
• She/he will be a strong collaborator with a proven track and a strong networker able of leveraging EHS&S expertise on and off site.
• Previous experience working to ISO14001 and ISO45001 international standards, preferably within a Biopharma/pharmaceutical or related environment is required.
• A relevant third level qualification in Science, Engineering or EHS, with at least 5 years’ experience in the environment, health and safety area is a prerequisite for the position.
