An Electrical Design is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Galway based Automation client. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for custom automated machinery

THE ROLE:

* Design electrical systems for custom automated machinery, including electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
* Develop electrical and pneumatic schematics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical).
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and customer specifications.
* Design and specify control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, motor controls, sensors, and safety systems
*Collaborate with the software engineering team to ensure proper integration of hardware and control systems
* Select appropriate components such as relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and drives for automation project,
*Work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy and functionality throughout the project lifecycle.
* Participate in design reviews and provide electrical design expertise during concept development, prototyping, and final build phases.#
* Troubleshoot electrical issues during the assembly and commissioning of machines, both in-house and at customer sites.
* Support the build and testing of electrical panels and control systems to verify functionality and adherence to design specifications.
* Assist in the commissioning of machines on the shop floor and at customer sites, ensuring systems operate safely and meet performance requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

*Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
*Experience: 3+ years of experience in electrical design, ideally within the automation, machine building, or manufacturing industry.
* Proficiency in electrical CAD Software
* Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial control systems.
* Familiarity with electrical safety standards
