Health and Safety Lead

A Health and Safety Lead is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based manufacturing client. This is a great opportunity to grow and develop programmes on a large site working closely with the engineering, quality and manufacturing teams as part of the senior team.

THE ROLE:

• Primary focal point for Health & Safety Matters and main point of contact for regulatory authorities.
• Strong on the ground presence, within site operations, supporting and engaging site management and operations teams on all health and safety matters.

• Work collaboratively with the operations team to address priorities, improve compliance and implement best practice.

• Work with the operations team to identify Capex requirements and ensure all change is carefully risk assessed and appropriately managed.

• Completion of all Health & Safety risk assessments, implement controls, and maintain safety statement and risk registers.

• Ensure all Health & Safety accidents, incidents and near misses are promptly reported and thoroughly investigated.

• Identify appropriate corrective and preventative measures and closeout using CI tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in an FMCG/ manufacturing environment.
• A third level qualification in a relevant discipline.

• Excellent working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and Risk Management.
