Inventory & Planning Supervisor required by CareerWise Recruitment for our multinational medical device client in Shannon, County Clare.

The Inventory & Planning Supervisor is responsible for managing and optimizing the inventory and planning processes within an organization. This role ensures the timely availability of materials and products while minimizing excess stock and reducing costs. 

Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management :

  • Oversee inventory levels and ensure accurate stock levels are maintained across all locations.
  • Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Monitor and manage stock rotation to ensure products are used in a timely manner, reducing obsolete or expired stock.
  • Implement and maintain stock control policies to prevent overstocking or stockouts.

2. Operations Forecasting & Planning:

  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to understand demand patterns and develop accurate forecasts.
  • Develop and manage production and procurement plans based on demand forecasts.
  • Adjust planning strategies as necessary to address fluctuations in demand or supply chain disruptions.

3. Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure materials are available when needed and that production schedules align with inventory levels.
  • Monitor supplier lead times, communicate inventory needs, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Address any issues or delays in the supply chain that may affect inventory levels or production schedules.

4. Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare regular reports on inventory performance, stock levels, and inventory turnover rates.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to inventory management processes.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as stock accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and demand forecasting accuracy.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management, procurement, and planning.
  • Implement best practices and system improvements to optimize inventory flow and reduce waste.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
