IT Specialist required for manufacturing client based in Shannon, Co. Clare.
The role of the IT Specialist is a hands-on role, with a high volume of activity. This is a new role due to growth in the business and demands being placed on the IT Department. Integrity and honesty are required in activities both internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tier 2 technical support and troubleshooting for desktop hardware, software, and peripherals, ensuring timely and effective resolution of escalated issues.
- Collaborate with tier 1 support teams and other internal stakeholders to diagnose and resolve complex desktop-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Monitor and maintain desktop security measures, implementing best practices and policies.
- Assist with the planning and execution of desktop-related projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
- Support and manage PCs on the network and resolve computer networking issues
- Support Microsoft Office
- Server administration and support
- Internet protocols and their support
Requirements:
- Hold a third level qualification in computer science or equivalent.
- Have proven recent experience in IT support / administration.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or equivalent are a plus.
- Have strong knowledge of:
o Network Infrastructure Devices
o Azure
o Active Directory
o End point protection
o VMware.
o Windows Operating Systems.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have good problem-solving abilities
- Have excellent attention to detail
