Maintenance Support Technician

A Maintenance Support Technician is required by Careerwise recruitment to work with a Galway based manufacturing company.

THE ROLE:

• Carry out preventative maintenance and calibrations as per work instructions (mechanical aptitude required).
• Upkeep of services sitewide i.e., Heat, Water, Gas, Elec, Air con, compressed air.
• Provide support as required for new equipment installation, tasks to include Design/specification/Removal of old equipment/services installation and installation/commissioning.
• Assist in planning and carrying out layout changes to production lines and facilities.
• Repair equipment or appliances.
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks.
• Identify and report the need for major repairs.
• Support in the maintenance and repair of plumbing, carpentry etc. to include site external areas as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Third level technical qualification or trade qualification required.
• Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision required.
• A broad grasp of general facility repair and maintenance duties is essential for this role.
• Ideally candidate would have skills in the understanding of Mechanical Systems, blueprint reading, precision measurement, the use of hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret technical drawings, tolerances, and specifications.
