Procurement Category Specialist

A Procurement Category Specialist (6 Month Contract Basis with a view to Permanency) is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Galway OR Dublin based client, this position is Hybrid. The Experienced Category Specialist is needed to join a very dynamic European Procurement Category Department responsible for managing direct material spend of several hundred million dollars across several European manufacturing sites. Your role will be to work along and support the Senior Category Managers in the delivery of Sourcing Strategies and key Procurement KPI’s.

THE ROLE:

• Will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to implement procurement Strategies.
• Aligning with Category Managers you will run sourcing programs through RFQ management and delivery.

• Lead the integration of Procurement engagement with New Product Development (NPD) Programs by participating, recording and been the link from Product Development to Category management and co-ordinating through effective RAIL management to ensure Category Managers are aware of activities.
• Participate and support the European Process Excellence Manager in the Supplier Resiliency Program and duties and actions to mitigate supply risk.
• Support Site Procurement on key supply issues aligning with Category Managers on solution development.
• Run and deliver MDI reports for Procurement Organisation. Regular updates and presentations to Category Team meeting and other Functional meetings as needed.
• Drive sustainability initiatives in line with business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Third Level Qualification is desirable.
• A dynamic individual with the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. We want you to show high levels of energy and commitment and be relentlessness in the pursuit strong solutions to our business challenges.
• Proven performance in projects and in cross-functional teams, experience carrying out category and procurement strategies, managing and negotiating with suppliers.
• 3-5 years experience in Procurement, Finance, FMCG Commercial or another relevant roles.
• Skilled in meeting deadlines, working under pressure and working autonomously in a team environment
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications and functional knowledge of MRP programs
• Must be detail oriented, with good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team environment
• Professional communication; both verbal and written are required
