A Procurement Manager is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based engineering client. Negotiation, selection and management of supply base for materials and services with a strong emphasis on mechanical commodities.
THE ROLE:
- Negotiate supplier and vendor contracts.
- Develop procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
- Provide commercial leadership and market insight.
- Control the procurement budget and promote long-term procurement cost savings.
- Manage all suppliers of materials, consumables and services to the business.
- Provide cost and lead time information to the estimating and tendering process as required.
- Mix of strategic and hands-on procurement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree qualified in Procurement / Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying or Engineering
- Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
- Five years previous Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager experience.
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts / terms of purchase / invoicing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Experience in construction with materials procurement in a process mechanical discipline.
- Experience of sourcing piping and related fittings for industrial applications.
