Senior Project Designer

Senior Project Designer required for international architectural metalwork client based in Dublin.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake manufacturing drawings on inventor
• Undertake design works using AutoCAD software with the aim of understanding the full integration of products.
• To attend factory visits and meetings.
• Attend site to carry out site surveys.
• Manage good housekeeping of the department environment and equipment.
• Provide after sales design support as required.
• Provide design details to supplement and clarify quotations as necessary.
• Provide technical support relating to the final use and specification of products.
• Assist the site installation teams with technical advice and support
• Manage the issue of design information and drawings relative to individual contract requirements and develop up to approval status.

• To mentor junior members and Apprentices of the Design Team.
• Ensure that costs are controlled and do not exceed budget provision
• Have the ability to understand and interpret architectural details, specifications, standards and Compliance Documentation.
• Understanding of the design and approval process.
• To become proficient in the use of Inventor software with the required training.
• To be able to ‘lead’ and support other Design Team members.
• To ensure all activities enhance customer satisfaction and meet the requirements of all interested parties.
• To liaise with factory Engineers and Planners to aid the effective delivery of products through manufacturing.
• Update Progress Reports and Programmes for relevant projects.
• Assist in the production design details to supplement and clarify quotations as necessary.
• Meeting attendance with representatives to provide technical support and any necessary complimentary detailing.
• Work to develop expertise within the department in key areas and actively seek further departmental knowledge and personal development through training and experience.
• To provide relevant training as and when required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in 3D Modelling is essential.
• Previous experience in AutoCAD drafting is essential

• Competent use of Microsoft Office
• Good time/resource management skills
• Capable of working on own initiative
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Work in a timely manner

• Great work ethic
• Own transport – ideally car as travel to site necessary from time to time.
