CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER / REGISTRAR - DUBLIN
CORU is Ireland’s statutory multi-profession health regulator, established under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005. Tasked with promoting high standards of professional conduct and education, CORU oversees the registration of health and social care professionals, ensuring public safety and trust in these vital services. Currently, CORU regulates 11 designated professions, including social workers, radiographers, physiotherapists and dietitians, collectively representing approximately 35,000 members by the end of 2025. CORU is based in Dublin city centre and directly employs over 100 people at its headquarters.
CORU now wish to appoint a CEO / Registrar to lead the organisation. Reporting to the Chair, the CEO will work closely with the Council, Department of Health and its relevant committees, to lead the organisation by providing expert strategic and operational guidance on matters relating to CORU’s remit. The CEO/Registrar will align CORU’s purpose, strategy, governance and organisational structure, ensuring all areas can effectively respond to change and complexity while executing the Health and Social Care Professionals Council’s strategic plan for 2022-2026 and beyond.
Ideally candidates should hold a primary degree, and preferably a postgraduate qualification, in disciplines relevant to general management. The successful candidate will have experience navigating highly regulated environments, be a transformational leader with excellent communication, influencing and advanced digital / data management skills. The ideal candidate must be capable of creating and developing strategic relationships with stakeholders. Additionally, candidates should be capable of ensuring positive internal working relationships to advance CORU’s goals. A demonstrated history of outstanding performance with a sophisticated service delivery provider is essential.
The salary, including base pay and directors’ allowance, will be in the scale range €125,000 - €151,000. Employment term is for 5 years.
