Director Software Development

Position Summary

This is a hybrid role 2 days onsite per week 

Reporting to our Chief Technical Officer the Software Development Director will

lead our Software Development organisation promoting a customer focussed, performance driven, team based and highly innovative culture.

Primary Responsibilities

·       Provide strategic thinking and leadership for a wide range of applications and, software-development methodologies.

·       Embed a customer focussed, performance driven, team based and highly innovative culture.

·       Collaborate with business/product owners to develop and deliver on features to address market, customer, and product needs.

·       Grow our software development talent providing for career growth and outstanding mentoring and coaching.

·       Drive productivity and value engineering practices to ensure delivery of our commitments to our customers.

·       Communicate delivery status to multiple stakeholders including our CTO and Executive Leadership.

·       Maintain and grow the data and metrics used to deliver and communicate delivery of the software.

·       Ensure that the organisation is following Best-In-Class development methodologies and bring an out-side-in perspective to our business.

About you

·       You can demonstrate a passion for bringing high quality software solutions to the customer on-time and within budget and have a track record of successfully managing large to medium sized development organisations.

·       You have deep knowledge of software development practices, theories, build practices, methodologies and related subjects.

·       You can build collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and across functions.

·       You partner with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical and business leadership.

·       You can work in a complex business environment balancing competing priorities and customer requirements.

·       You are a strong communicator with the ability to maintain internal and external alignment.

·       10-15+ years in Software Development Management & Leadership in a software product company or SaaS product company.

·       Experience in software products for B2B environments from small to enterprise customers.

·       Previous experience as a Manager-of-Managers will be an advantage.

·       Experience with Regulated Life Sciences customers will be an advantage.
