Laboratory Manager – Microbiology | Pharma Client | Cashel

Our pharma client based in Cashel is looking for a Laboratory Manager – Microbiology to join their team. This is a leadership role in a growing organisation, responsible for developing microbiology testing processes, managing laboratory operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and setup of the Microbiology Laboratory.
• Oversee microbiology testing processes and infrastructure.
• Manage method and specification-related change controls.
• Handle microbiology investigations and technical transfers.
• Oversee contract laboratory testing and liaise with regulatory authorities.
• Work cross-functionally to maintain compliance and streamline processes.
• Develop next-level leadership within the Quality Control and Analytical R&D teams.
• Support strategic expansion of inhalation microbiology capabilities with global teams.
• Identify efficiency improvements in quality control operations and develop KPIs.

What You Need:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology.
• 10+ years’ experience in a Microbiology Laboratory environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role (Supervisor/Manager level).
• Strong knowledge of microbiology testing and regulatory standards.
• Excellent organisation, time management, and leadership skills.
• Experience in internal audits and compliance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for team training.
• Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
