Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Hybrid | Shannon, Co. Clare

They are developing a cutting-edge platform designed to execute large Electronic Design Automation (EDA) workloads seamlessly across multiple cloud platforms and hybrid ground-to-cloud environments. This role involves tackling a diverse range of technical challenges, from advanced cloud orchestration to mirrored Linux filesystems.

The Role:

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in architecting and automating public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of high-performance computing (HPC) in the cloud and play a critical role in evolving next-generation solutions. You’ll have the autonomy and responsibility to lead core infrastructure development while collaborating with top-tier cloud providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Architecture: Review, design, and contribute to cloud infrastructure architectures developed in collaboration with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud to support EDA workloads.
• Automation & Development: Develop and automate reference architectures for both customer-managed clouds and the company’s proposed managed cloud offerings.
• Multi-Cloud Orchestration: Facilitate seamless orchestration of resources across hybrid and multi-cloud environments using the Siemens PaaS.
• Performance & Security: Ensure the highest levels of security, performance, and scalability across all environments and applications.
• Innovation: Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives to validate new technologies and techniques.
• Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to understand their cloud infrastructure requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs.
• DevOps Integration: Assist with developing DevOps pipelines and tools for building scalable Cloud SaaS solutions.
• Benchmark Testing: Conduct performance comparisons of the latest cloud servers, architectures, and tooling.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experienced Architect: Proven experience designing and managing large-scale, production-ready cloud platforms.
• Cloud Security Expert: Strong understanding of security principles across public, private, and hybrid clouds.
• Containerization Specialist: Deep experience with container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
• Multi-Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience architecting across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings from Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with IaC frameworks and scripting technologies (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Disaster Recovery: Expertise in designing disaster recovery solutions and ensuring multi-zone availability.
• Cloud Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience managing hybrid on-premises and SaaS-based cloud solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud-native integration platforms (iPaaS).
• A strong focus on performance optimization and scalability in cloud environments.
