Senior Cloud Software Engineer– Hybrid | Shannon, Co. Clare

About the Client:

Our client is a global leader in innovation, automation, and digitalization. They are developing a cutting-edge platform designed to execute large-scale EDA workloads efficiently across multiple cloud platforms and hybrid ground-to-cloud environments. The work is both varied and technically challenging, involving everything from advanced cloud orchestration to mirrored Linux filesystems.

The Role:

We’re looking for a talented Senior Cloud Engineer to join their Scrum team, bringing deep expertise in architecting core software components. This role offers significant responsibility, independence, and the opportunity to contribute proactively to a game-changing platform.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Architect and Develop: Design, develop, and deploy high-performance distributed software systems for cloud platforms and HPC (High-Performance Computing) grids.
• Cloud Collaboration: Work directly with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud to optimize EDA workloads.
• Technical Leadership: Provide mentorship, set technical direction, and drive best practices within the team.
• Quality Ownership: Own the end-to-end software component lifecycle, from design to delivery, ensuring high standards in quality and performance.
• Agile Development: Contribute to all aspects of Scrum team goals while fostering a “shift-left” testing approach.
• Innovation: Drive continuous improvement with a focus on scalability, reliability, and automation.

Who We’re Looking For:

• Cloud Expertise: Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices and orchestration software in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Linux Power User: Deep expertise in Linux-based systems and administration.
• Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of networking protocols and microservice communications (gRPC, TCP/IP, REST).
• Java Mastery: Extensive experience developing Java-based software solutions for distributed systems.
• Problem Solver: A natural troubleshooter with a keen interest in understanding systems from the ground up.
• Agile Mindset: Passion for delivering customer value quickly and adapting to evolving requirements.
• EDA/HPC Background (Preferred): Experience in Electronic Design Automation or High-Performance Computing environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and SaaS solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Expertise in object-oriented design and modern software development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
• Proven track record of technical leadership in complex software projects.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
