We have an exciting opportunity for a PRINCIPAL PSYCHOLOGIST based at our Enable Ireland Wicklow Children’s Services, main base CDNT5-North Wicklow Bray.
Contract Type: Permanent Part Time
Contract Hours: 14 hours per week
Salary Scale: WTE €106,425 - €123,375 pro rata per annum.
Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)
Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days per annum pro rata
Overview of the Post:
The Principal Psychologist will be responsible for the provision of clinical supervision for a number of Senior Psychologists across the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs) in Wicklow. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the Psychology supports are in line with evidence based practice and in keeping with local and national legislation and documentation. The post holder will have responsibilities for planning, maintaining and evaluating quality Psychology supports within the context of the interdisciplinary team.

Essential Criteria:
Candidates must, at the latest date for receipt of applications
a) Hold:
(i) A recognised University degree or diploma (NQAI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject
and
(ii) A recognised postgraduate professional psychological qualification appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated
and
b) Have at least eight years satisfactory post graduate experience in the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated inclusive of any time spent in pursuing a course leading to the postgraduate qualification and including at least three years satisfactory experience in a senior capacity.
and
c) Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
d) Postgraduate experience working in different settings for children with disabilities.
e) Experience in supervision.
f) Experience of involvement in clinical service development.
g) Competent and proficient IT skills.
h) Be eligible to work in the State.
i) Hold a full and clean driving licence and have access to own private transport.
Desirable Criteria:
- Evidence of interest and/or experience of, taking a leadership role within the profession or workplace.
- Relevant postgraduate training specific to children with disabilities (0-18 years)
- Experience of interdisciplinary team working
