An opportunity now exists in Galway County Council for the position of Director of Finance.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Finance will lead and manage the finance function within the Authority. As a member of the senior management team, the Director of Finance will also have other responsibilities in the overall management of the Authority.

As a key member of the Senior Management team, the successful candidate will be required to make a valuable contribution to the strategic management of the Finance function as well as provide a high level of independence and objectivity. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to fully utilise their professional, technical and management skills in an environment that promotes a high-performance culture. As well as leading the finance function, additional responsibilities involving other function areas of the Local Authority will be assigned from time to time.
