Category Buyer - County Cavan.

In this role you will work within the ERP system, assessing material requirements and ensuring delivery to site on time for production. You will work closely with suppliers and production.

Responsibilities include:

Creation of purchase requisitions
• Create request for quotations
• Create purchase orders
• Ensuring material will be delivered on time.

Exception / shortage reports
• Reports are run weekly to provide critical information on rescheduling or cancellation of orders as per production plan.
• Request drawings where applicable for submission to supplier

Pursue Suppliers
• Ensuring for on time delivery or requesting that materials are delivered earlier if necessary.
• Partake in meetings with suppliers to review performance etc.
• Evaluating delivery performance on a weekly basis

Transport
• Ensuring all material is collected or shipped on time.
• Enter shipping confirmations once order acknowledgment received from suppliers
• Ensure that material arrives in time and in conjunction with planning
• Organise shipments and collections from suppliers

Creating order confirmations
• Ensuring the planning department is scheduling production orders in an efficient manner.

Requirements for this role:
At least 2-3 years' experience in a similar purchasing role.
Proficiency in use of Word, Excel, Outlook.
Experience in manufacturing environment desirable
Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP beneficial
Good communication skills for effective liaison with production and suppliers
