Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement best practices in line with HIQA standards.
  • Inspire and support staff through leadership, innovation, and creativity in resident care.
  • Conduct and oversee clinical audits, including medication management, care checklists, and equipment use.
  • Supervise and coordinate the admission process for new residents, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans, addressing their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to nursing and care staff, including orientation and ongoing professional development.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Facilitate effective communication among care teams through active participation in daily handovers.
  • Coordinate shifts, ensuring appropriate delegation of tasks among nursing and care staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience (including overseas experience), with at least 2 years in an Irish nursing home setting.
  • Previous Senior Staff Nurse (SSN) or Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) experience is desirable but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong command of spoken and written English.
  • A demonstrated interest or qualification in a specialized area of nursing such as gerontology, infection control, or dementia care.
  • Experience working in a nursing home environment is essential for this role.
