Engineering & Technologies Director - County Meath.

This is a senior role and as Engineering & Technologies Director you will have P&L and strategic responsibility for the company's Engineering & Technologies division, and will develop market-leading products and innovations for the water and wastewater industry. You will lead a team to take concept designs for water and wastewater products, bringing these through the design process, into manufacturing and testing.

You will work in a one-team culture while actively contributing to your own skills and experience. In this role, you will provide leadership in the implementation of a manufacturing and technologies strategy including off-site manufacturing and assembly, technologies, innovation, OEM agreements and channel partnerships.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• The E&T Director will be required to implement and monitor the progress of the Engineering and Technology strategy.
• Lead by example on matters of Health, Safety, Quality, Environment & Wellbeing. Conduct senior leadership visits to sites and safety interventions.
• Adopt and promote the Group's Sustainability and Net Zero carbon targets and that of respective clients.
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for business unit and report monthly on performance against budget/forecast.
• Assist in the compilation of the yearly budgets.
• Resource the business unit adequately to deliver successfully for customers.
• Manage the client and other stakeholders’ expectations.
• Building strong working relationships with clients
• As a client focused business, ensuring regular liaison with clients to ensure that their expectations are being met and exceeded.
• Make strategic decisions in accordance with Business Plan Objectives and provide the necessary leadership and direction for teams of managers to implement those decisions.
• Drive accountability in the project delivery teams by defining clear roles and responsibilities for direct reports.
• Adopt and support the use of the Group's Digital Delivery tools, common data environment and applications and ensure these are used within each respective project. Provide feedback on areas for improvement.
• Ensure staff allocation necessary to efficiently deliver turnover.
• Continually review key performance indicators (KPI's) and benchmarks.
• Drive growth plans for all Engineering and Technologies to maximise revenue opportunities and streams.
• Oversee the manufacturing capability in terms of staff, material and production to drive performance, efficiency and quality standards in line with business objectives and goals.
• Scaling up the production facility and operation as future growth levels demand.
• Expand, develop and diversify manufacturing facility to ensure resilience and continuity of work.
• Anticipate risk and manage opportunities.
• Keep appraised of latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).
• Provide input to business functions and operations in shaping and implementing efficiencies and improvements.

Interested applicants should have:

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a similar role. Experience in the water and wastewater industry an advantage, not essential.
• Must have experience in leading a manufacturing function, lean manufacturing, production planning, resources planning, commercial reporting, business development, etc.
• Experienced in the management of a business unit P&L and monthly reporting of business unit performance.
• Ability to liaise directly with customers as company representative on products, technology, innovations and bespoke engineered products.
• Minimum of a Level 8 Degree in a relevant engineering qualification.
• Good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project. Ability to prepare baseline programmes and programme updates.
• Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project.
• Strong communications skills with a high level of motivation.
