Manufacturing Warehouse Supervisor - County Cavan

Role & Purpose:

The supply chain team consists of sourcing, planning, warehouse, and procurement functions. The warehouse plays a critical role in the overall manufacturing process.

This position is focused on achieving high levels of efficiency and satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, kitting, and ensuring the quality and quantity of raw materials. The role involves measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance. It also oversees daily operations through the Stores Foreman.

Inventory management is a key function, ensuring accurate control from site delivery to product consumption, optimizing availability while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff, directly or through Team Leaders.
  • Plan resources and assign tasks, ensuring accountability for performance.
  • Provide training and guidance on processes and equipment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns.
  • Coach and develop team members for career progression.
  • Foster team direction and cohesion.

Warehouse Management

  • Conduct inventory analysis and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate stock item master records, correcting descriptions and stock numbers where necessary.
  • Ensure inventory and material locations are accurately recorded.
  • Communicate effectively with Production, Purchasing, and other departments.
  • Oversee warehouse maintenance and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate receipt of goods and alignment with purchase orders.
  • Optimize storage locations, delivery mechanisms, and stock management processes.
  • Implement best practices for efficient and timely delivery to production areas, as well as return of materials to storage.
  • Organize and maintain inventory storage areas.
  • Measure and report on inventory transaction accuracy.
  • Conduct stock accuracy checks through inventory and cycle counting.
  • Control stock levels and maintain ERP system accuracy.
  • Collaborate with suppliers of semi-finished goods.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce workplace safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct safety spot checks and ensure full compliance.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment to prevent disruptions.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain and analyze records of production, including output, efficiency, and quality metrics.
  • Prepare reports for management on production progress, challenges, and action plans.
  • Collaborate with logistics, quality assurance, design, and engineering teams to optimize operations.

  • Proven track record in warehouse management and achieving performance targets.
  • Experience in leading teams, setting goals, and driving operational improvements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to motivate, train, and inspire others.
  • Knowledge of ERP and warehouse management tools.
  • A customer-focused approach to all activities.
  • Awareness of key industry trends such as AI, WMS interfaces, inventory control systems, and automation.
  • Proactive and strategic mindset.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Diploma-level qualification in Warehouse Management, Logistics, Engineering, or Manufacturing Management.
  • 3+ years of experience in a stores management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze processes, implement changes, and think strategically.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Experience with warehouse software, ERP systems, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
