Process Development Engineer - North Dublin.
Our client requires an innovative and self-motivated Process Development Engineer who will be responsible for the delivery of automated process equipment into a production environment.
The scope of the role involves concept design, right the way through to validation of the equipment prior to delivering it the production environment. This exciting position offers you a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of engineers developing new products, as well as improving processes on established mature product lines.
You will find this position varies and consequently requires the demonstration and development of your technical, data analysis and communication skills. The successful applicant will have a strong technical background and minimum 3 years’ experience in a medium/high volume mechanical/ manufacturing environment.
The key outputs and deliverables of the role are as follows:
• To design, develop and integrate automated process equipment into a production environment.
• Creating practical automated systems and the software to control them.
• To support the process development of new products in collaboration with the relevant product divisions.
• Understanding problems or stakeholder briefs and developing solutions to satisfy them.
• The justification, specification, and implementation of new process equipment
Interested applicants must possess the following:
• Educated to at least degree level (2:1 or above) in Mechatronic Engineering or similar
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering projects.
• A good knowledge of PLC/HMI programming, sensors, software and control systems.
• A good knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques.
• Good project planning and project management skills.
• Competent in the use of 3D CAD packages
• Familiar with geometric tolerancing, tolerance stacks, limits and fits
Although not essential, it is an advantage to have any of the following:
• A working knowledge of Siemens NX would be advantageous, though full training would be provided.
• An understanding of CE requirements and machine directives
• Understanding of metrology, measurement techniques and calibration
You should be able to work well in both a team, sharing ideas and co-ordinating actions, as well autonomously, managing your own activities and meeting deadlines. You will be a self-starter and be able to understand priorities within your day-to-day work, and able to spot potential areas for improvement.
