Procurement Specialist - County Meath.

The Procurement Specialist will be pivotal in delivering materials and services that meet operational requirements in line with company policies and procedures.
The Procurement Specialist will work within the Finance team and be a strategic partner to various operational stakeholders. The role involves management of end to end procurement processes, ensuring all materials and services meet company standards in quality, cost, and delivery time. Tendering, evaluating, qualifying and selecting suppliers and conducting robust negotiations to deliver materials and services in line with operational requirements and corporate processes and ethics is a core part of the role. This includes capital project purchases, inventory purchases and the purchase of services and delivery of associated contracts and purchase orders.
Key Tasks:
• Be a strategic partner to the various operational stakeholders for all procurements including assessment and challenge stakeholder needs, requirements, preferences and expectations.
• Build and maintain positive and effective relationships, providing in-depth professional advice on procurement strategy and the application of relevant policies, guidelines, and legislation.
• To understand the operational needs of the business in terms of purchase of materials, equipment and services.
• Responsible for evaluating suppliers, materials, drafting scope of work(s) in relation to services, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
• Perform competitive tendering, efficient negotiation and complementing purchases and contract awards supported by comprehensive contracts in line with company templates containing all necessary specifications and clauses.
• Analyse spends on all equipment, materials and services and identify areas for cost savings, better service and better supplier performance.
• Management of the approved supplier list and contracts register.
• Input to quarterly forecasts and annual budgets including materials and services pricing.
• Participation in Group Procurement meetings on a regular basis.
• Reporting of site related procurement activities including sustainability of suppliers.
• Other – Execute other procurement related activities, handle purchase requisitions/orders for materials, services, and equipment, ensuring adherence to company policies and general support to other areas of as required.
Experience and qualifications requirements:
• Ideally a degree / third level qualification
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
• Experience of strategic sourcing, either from a role in procurement or from operations.
• Experience of purchasing services and execution of large service agreements.
• Strategic sourcing and negotiation skills
• Computer literacy including Microsoft outlook, word and excel.
• Numerical & Logical Ability – The ability to work with numbers in a competent and confident way.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical ability, with a logical approach to problem solving and sound judgement;
• Dynamic, with a natural focus on the ‘big picture’, combined with strong attention to detail; and proactive, with a ‘can-do’ approach and the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
