Sourcing & Procurement Specialist
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to strategically source and procure materials, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain. This role involves supplier management, contract negotiation, inventory coordination, and compliance monitoring to meet business demands and drive operational success.
Job Summary:
The Sourcing & Procurement Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to secure high-quality goods and services while optimizing costs and maintaining delivery schedules. This position requires strong negotiation skills, supply chain coordination, and market awareness to support ongoing business operations and future growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Supplier Management:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and reliability.
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Stay informed on market trends and industry best practices to enhance sourcing strategies.
Sourcing & Negotiation:
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and business objectives.
Ensure all sourcing activities align with budget targets and cost-saving initiatives.
Maintain accurate sourcing documentation and ensure compliance with company policies.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
Collaborate with operations, procurement, logistics, and finance to ensure timely material delivery.
Monitor inventory levels and work with suppliers to optimize stock availability.
Proactively address supply chain disruptions and mitigate risks.
Compliance, Data & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations.
Prepare reports on supplier performance, cost savings, and procurement metrics.
Maintain accurate sourcing records and contract databases.
Track and report on cost savings and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in supplier management, cost reduction strategies, and building strong supplier relationships.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or similar).
Understanding of supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement processes.
Familiarity with global sourcing and supply chain best practices.
Soft Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Relationship-building mindset to foster strong supplier partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or CPP (a plus).
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
General Requirements:
Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Full, clean driving license.
Ability to understand and communicate technical terminology.
Interest in learning about the materials and their applications in production.
