THE ROLE

Reporting to the Executive Committee led by the President, the Secretary General will provide strategic leadership to the IPU and will ensure that it delivers effectively in all areas of its mandate such as advocacy and negotiations as well as operational, financial, compliance and governance matters. As the public face of the organisation the Secretary General will play a significant part in leading communications, advocacy, reputation enhancement while representing the IPU and its members’ interests in the national arena.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate will possess demonstrable visionary leadership and project management skills and will have significant networking and stakeholder management abilities in addition to excellent communication skills.

The individual will possess an established record of achievement working at a senior level in government, business, industry, the public sector or in a senior advocacy role within an equivalent membership organisation interacting with government.

In addition to a relevant third-level qualification, you will have an understanding of the economic, commercial and legislative issues impacting on Community Pharmacy.

Senior Engineering Inspector- Roads and Greenways

Background The roads and greenways capital programme and regional management department are responsible for the delivery of TII roads and active travel capital funded projects. This programme is delivered on a regional basis by a Regional Management team led by the respective Regional Manager. The teams are responsible for the management, promotion and delivery of the programme in their regions. This includes responsibility for the National Regional Offices (NROs) and delivery of the roads programme with the assistance of the Local Authorities. The department is responsible for the delivery of a number of Capital programmes, projects within these programmes are delivered in accordance with the TII Project Management Guidelines, Project Appraisal Guidelines and TII’s Standards and Guidance documents. This requires supporting the delivery of these projects through all aspects of scheme development from initial inception through to construction close out. The department co-ordinates and manages the delivery of capital schemes in each of the 5 regions including Major Projects, active travel, greenways, minor realignments, pavement and safety schemes. The positions will be part of the Regional Management team. The Senior Engineering Inspector will report to the Regional Manager and will have specific responsibility for the regional delivery of the Roads, Greenways and Active Travel Portfolio of projects. The person will support overall delivery in the Region and may be assigned other duties at the discretion of the Regional Manager. The portfolio management unit supports the Regional Management teams in the overall co-ordination of the greenways, active travel, pavement and safety programmes delivered by Roads Capital. The unit is responsible for internal co-ordination with the various units in TII. The unit supports overall delivery and is responsible for updating documentation, processes and procedures and supporting internal procurements as necessary for effective delivery of the road programmes.
