The Global Communications function helps the organization achieve its objectives by optimizing our function resources toward high-value work.  

The Associate Director, Global Manufacturing Communications is an important part of the Global Communications and Manufacturing team, focused on site communications for sites in Dublin, Brinny and Ballydine,  comprising approximately 1,600 employees within Manufacturing Division. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in site communications, change management and workforce engagement with diverse employee populations.  

The position requires a candidate who is highly adaptable and can balance multiple priorities. The Associate Director partners closely with colleagues across corporate (enterprise) communications, divisional communications and functional leaders at the site.  

This position reports to the Global Site Communications Director, Manufacturing Division. 

Scope of work and core responsibilities include:  

Boost employee performance by developing communications plans that help site colleagues understand how their role and work connects to the site, divisional and corporate strategies; utilize most effective platforms and channels and implement innovative solutions to reach both “wired” and “non-wired” manufacturing employees. 

Enable Leader Effectiveness by improving site leader communication through advancing site leaders’ core communication skills and crafting leader communications that empower employee decision making and increases their engagement, diagnosing communication breakdowns at the site and supporting site leaders by creating materials for site events and news.  

Reduce Organizational Risk Exposure by creating communications that effectively educate employees on formal and informal policies, escalating potential risks that could impact our reputation and partnering with divisional communications to identify, assess, address and prioritize actions.  

Differentiate Organization from Competitors by supporting efforts to differentiate our corporate brand at the site level. 

Qualifications:  

Education minimum requirement 

Bachelor’s Degree with 8 or more years of communications experience

Required:  

  • Track record of success in communications  
  • Internal and external communication expertise with fluency in social media and other digital communications channels 
  • Strategic thinker and hands-on individual who can take projects from concept to implementation in a team environment 
  • Demonstrated capabilities to drive organizational change, ensure employee engagement and manage cross-functional projects 
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating across functions 
  • Proven ability to translate science/business/technical information, developments and challenges into compelling communications for key stakeholders 
  • Strong collaborator with effective relationship and partnership skills 

Preferred: 

  • Experience within a highly regulated industry; deep business knowledge, solid understanding of manufacturing across a global enterprise 
  • Experience managing the site communication in a manufacturing site
