Due to our growth, we are seeking a Facilities Lead to oversee the planning, organisation, and delivery of facility operations and maintenance for our Carlow site. This role is crucial in ensuring our facilities are safe, efficient, and compliant, while aligning with our business goals and industry standards.
Your Core Responsibilities
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements for integrated facility management on site in Carlow.
- Oversee maintenance and operation of facility systems, including HVAC, utilities, cleaning, waste management, and laboratory systems.
- Act as the main site contact for the managed service provider, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
- Manage the site IFM budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting of expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Initiate and support capital project proposals for facility upgrades and improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-site teams to support facility upgrades and expansions with minimal disruption.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including health and safety standards, GMP guidelines, and environmental laws.
- Manage and direct a team of facilities engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
You are ready if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in engineering management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale facility operations and maintenance programs in a regulated environment.
- Strong leadership, team management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of facility management practices and regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with safety and compliance systems (e.g., OSHA, EPA) and quality systems (e.g., ISO, GMP).
- Proficient in budget management, strategic planning, resource allocation, and the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.
Nice to have, but not essential:
- Nice-to-have qualifications include a Master’s degree or MBA, and relevant certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
