We have a wonderful opportunity for an Operations Lead for our vaccines manufacturing site in Brinny, Cork. As the Operations Lead in our vaccines manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing the operational activities of our facility. Your focus will be on end-to-end scheduling, ensuring safety and quality measures are met, implementing lean six sigma principles, and fostering people development and an inclusive culture.

Tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive production schedules, from raw material receipt to finished product release, ensuring optimal resource utilization and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as supply chain, quality assurance, and production to align schedules, prioritize tasks, and optimize workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, protocols, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to establish and maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Implement and improve quality control processes and monitor adherence to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality vaccines.
  • Ensure the IPT is permanent inspection ready at all times.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify process inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead projects to optimize operational processes, reduce waste, improve productivity, and enhance overall operational performance.
  • Foster a culture of lean thinking, encouraging employees to actively contribute to process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Nurture and develop a high-performing team by providing coaching, feedback, and training opportunities to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Promote an inclusive and diverse work environment where all team members are valued, respected, and provided equal growth opportunities.

Your profile

  • Ph.D. in analytical chemistry/biochemistry or related field or M.S. with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical Industry or Bachelor with 7 years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical Industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Life Sciences) or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations management within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or vaccine manufacturing facility.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end scheduling, production planning, and execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, quality control systems, and regulatory requirements within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering people development, teamwork, and creating an inclusive work culture.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
