Bar Manager opportunity at 5* Hotel in Cork to join and lead our Clients busy Bar team.

The role focuses on supporting the day-to-day activities across all Hotel Bar outlets.

This role is accountable for the service standards, hygiene standards and the total beverages sales budget.


The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the initial staff induction to the department and the ongoing training and development of all team members within the department. They will be responsible for the stocktaking of all departmental stock, liaising with our Team on the purchasing of glassware, cutlery, linen, and maintenance of equipment within the department.

Leadership is key to develop and maintain the team across our outlets and to maintain service standards in line with the Company culture.

Knowledge and experience in the following areas is essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years managerial experience in bar and beverages.
  • Previous experience in delivering 5- Star food and beverage service.
  • Good cocktail knowledge essential and Mixology experience a plus
  • Excellent IT Skills including a proficient user of MS Office and excel.
  • Knowledge of Volante system is an advantage.

  • Ability to show a positive attitude towards guests and colleagues at all times.
  • Be self-motivated, being able to work alone with good personal organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational, negotiation and communication skills are a must including fluent spoken and written English.

Duties include but are not exclusive to:

  • Beverage Gross Profit margin each month
  • Managing payroll costs, efficient rostering and holiday planning
  • To organise the efficient operation of the hotel bar.
  • Staff communication and training, mentoring, coaching and motivation
  • Further development of the department and the team
  • Organising monthly team meetings
  • The stock management and stock take of the Main bar, Bistro and banqueting Bars.
