Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ) is Ireland’s national public-service media organisation. The market within which RTÉ is operating is constantly evolving. In the next decade, RTÉ will transform into an innovative, IP-based public service media provider. This exciting transition will make RTÉ fully integrated, digital-native, and personalised, offering new ways to meet the evolving needs of diverse audiences across a variety of devices.
RTÉ is seeking a highly experienced and strategic CRCO to establish and lead its risk management and compliance functions. The CRCO will play a crucial role in ensuring RTÉ operates within its legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
Reporting into the Director General of RTÉ, and as a member of the RTÉ Leadership Team, the CRCO’s key responsibilities are:
• Establish and lead RTÉ’s risk management and compliance functions in identifying, assessing, managing, and mitigating risks.
• Foster a robust risk, control, and compliance culture while developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management and compliance framework.
• Champion and enhance knowledge of risk and compliance management within the organisation, providing strategic advice, expert assistance, and constructive challenge to senior management.
• Establish and chair key committees.
• Develop and deliver engaging training on risk management and compliance practices.
• Proactively monitor compliance and swiftly escalate breaches.
• Prepare and present informative risk and compliance reports.
RTÉ welcome applications from candidates who possess:
• At least 15 years’ experience in risk management, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role.
• A proven track record of developing and implementing effective risk management strategies and frameworks, preferably within a media or broadcasting organisation.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Knowledge of regulatory and operational requirements related to a media or broadcasting organisation.
• Prior experience working for a commercial state body under the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies would be beneficial.
