Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist
This dynamic Renewable Energy Business is adding to the team, in Kildare & reports to the Planning Programme Manager.
You will be responsible for : -
- Leading on the delivery of Env. Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports & Appropriate Assessment for renewable energy infrastructure projects.
- Leading the EIA process for large scale renewable energy projects
- Most important is the delivery of the (EIA) reports & appropriate assessment/Nature Impact Statement for the proposed development.
- Provide environmental expertise in relation to Renewable Energy projects to assist the Planning Team & to inform the Business Units Strategy ensuring compliance with planning & environmental issues;
- Knowing about planning/environmental legislation changes: policy decisions; updates to national, regional, & local authority dev't plans to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to planning submissions as required.
- Assist the stakeholder & advocacy team with developing effective project plans for managing communications, consultation with local communities, relevant s/holders including stat/non-statutory consultees.
- Prepare specs for third party services for projects as required & fully assist the procurement team in the various stages of associated procurement processes.
- Ensure that all works carried out under your remit comply with the company's H&S & Environmental policies & all relevant EU & National policies & statutory requirements.
The Person:
- The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge & attributes:
- Hons Degree (Level 8) in Env. Science, Env. Eng or equivalent
- Min 5 years exp. in leading the preparation of EIAR & AA (Appropriate Assessment) /NIS (Nature Impact Statement) for large scale projects essential.
- Expertise in leading the delivery of EIS/EIAR & AA/NIS documentation for large scale development projects is essential.
- Exp leading & managing multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects is pretty much essential.
- Understanding of EIA process & Irish planning policy & legislation in relation to EIA is essential.
- Exp. in Renewables & related infrastructure, or SID projects is desirable if not essential.
- Exp. across a range of project types with differing priorities, risks & timelines desirable but not essential.
