Production Manager - Kildare
Sanderson is working with a well-known Irish FMCG, and they're looking for a maintenance manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead production activities to meet daily and weekly targets.
  • Manage and motivate the production team, ensuring high performance and addressing operational issues.
  • Promote staff engagement, teamwork, and problem-solving.
  • Create effective work rosters to meet production plans.
  • Review production plans and address potential risks.
  • Monitor productivity, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of production personnel.
  • Ensure cross-training and labor coverage for key positions.
  • Handle disciplinary issues and staff absences professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and hold regular meetings.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and establish development plans.
  • Maintain SOPs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide key performance data and comply with audit requirements.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve production issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance production efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and maintain high production standards.
  • Support hygiene and safety standards through microbiological testing and investigations.
  • Integrate new products into the production process.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance team for planned maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and competent in relevant procedures.
  • Enforce health and safety policies and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Manage waste segregation, storage, and removal.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team in a manufacturing environment, ideally food manufacturing.
  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
  • Strong ability to engage and motivate staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with manufacturing software is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a compliance-driven environment (BRC level or equivalent).
  • Proven track record in driving site improvements.
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting on operational metrics.
  • Ability to train staff and conduct effective communication across various stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of the factory operations, including occasional weekend work.
