Expert advisors to support engagement of the private recruitment sector in Ireland and Germany
Purpose
We are seeking to contract one or more expert advisors to support engagement with the private recruitment sector.
Context
Seefar Foundation is a non-profit specialising in migration. We are implementing a project called Scaling Up STEM Talent from Africa in Europe (SUSTAIN). The project is funded by the European Union through a fund called the Migration Partnership Facility. It started in September 2024 and will run until May 2027.
The purpose of SUSTAIN is to help:
- Small, medium, and large businesses in Ireland and Germany to fill gaps in their workforce.
- Nigeria to maximise the benefit of its talent.
- Nigerians to access a new pathway to gainful employment.
The project will place over 200 Nigerians into jobs in Ireland and Germany. It will create a model that can scale up and be of lasting, mutual benefit to both countries. To ensure we maximize our reach and the quality of our engagement with the private sector, we would like to engage individuals with existing networks and expertise.
Opportunity
We are inviting applications for one or more experts to support high quality delivery across the project’s work clusters. Successful applicants will join a roster and be engaged on an ad-hoc basis, as needs arise. The roster will be strictly limited to a maximum of three members. Note that this does not guarantee a minimum number of days.
Tasks are likely to include:
- Expert review of procurement and assistance appraising tenders.
- Input into technical discussions among stakeholders, including talent management agencies.
- Representing the project to private sector actors in Ireland and/or Germany.
- Review of technical and non-technical written outputs.
- Ad-hoc online consultation advice.
There may be some limited and optional travel to Ireland, Germany, and/or Nigeria.
Eligibility
You must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven expertise in building relationships with international talent/recruitment agencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly recognise the nuances and sensitivities in high level commercial and government relationships.
- Commercial acumen: you know what motivates market actors and drives their behaviour.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
You will have an advantage if you can demonstrate:
- Experience working for/with recruitment agencies or on international recruitment.
- Experience working with partners in Ireland and Germany specifically.
- Experience recruiting from the African continent, especially Nigeria.
- Fluency in written and spoken German.
