Our client has been established for over 40 years and are a food producer and exporter with over 150 staff across multiple sites with customers on a global scale.
They now wish to appoint a Quality Assistant as maternity cover for their operation based in Donegal.
This will be a challenging role for an experienced candidate who will report and work closely with the Group Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

Include but may not be limited to:

  • Perform inspections and tests on finished products;
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems;
  • Write technical reports products and test processes;
  • Ensuring quality control operating procedures are adhered too;
  • Supply quality control data necessary for submission to regulatory bodies;
  • Inspect and analyse raw materials;
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established protocols;
  • Investigate or report adverse test results;
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications;
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions;
  • Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained;
  • Daily Checks on the floor;
  • Part of the BRC Global Standards team;
  • Collection and retention of samples for use in investigation of customer complaints;
  • Monitoring Factory Hygiene on a daily basis;
  • Swabbing of machinery and employees to ensure cleaning is effective;
  • Collection and monitoring of factory floor paperwork to ensure completion;

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will require:

  • Good understanding of manufacturing capabilities, products, process flows and HACCP systems;
  • A personal pride and confidence to carry out the job;
  • Must have an interest in the industry and be self-motivated;
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative;
  • Sufficient technical and written skills to perform the job;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Attention to detail and ability to solve problems;
  • Capable of growing with company and in time to take on more responsibility, including leading projects;
  • Preference will be given to those with BRC experience.
