Environmental Scientist / Engineer

The Environmental Policy and Compliance (EP&C) Section provides environmentally related technical, legal and policy support to all departments within TII and to National Roads Offices, Project Offices and local authorities. The environmental areas addressed include sustainability, climate change and carbon evaluation, biodiversity which incorporates ecology, ecological surveying techniques, landscape preparation and maintenance and invasive alien plant species (IAPS), waste and circular economy, air quality, noise and vibration, soils and geology, surface and groundwater, drainage, etc.

Assistant Motorway Operations Manager

The Network Management Division is responsible for the management of the national road network, comprising approximately 5,300km of Ireland’s principal roads, including approximately 1,300km of motorways and dual carriageways. The Network Operations section of Network Management comprises three regions and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of national roads within each region. Each region comprises a MMaRC contract managed by a motorway contractor / operator along with a number of motorway PPP concessions. In general, non-motorway sections on the national road network within each region are managed by the local authorities, overseen by TII.

Client and Carbon Specialist

The amended Climate Action and Low Carbon Development Act outlines TII’s obligations regarding climate change and carbon budgeting. The Government’s annual Climate Action Plan (CAP) outlines TII’s specific obligations regarding climate action and reducing carbon emissions. As required by CAP TII publishes an annual Climate Action Roadmap (the Roadmap) setting out TII’s pathway to reducing carbon emissions to 2030 and beyond. A Climate and Carbon Specialist is now required to lead the ongoing assessment and management of TII’s carbon emissions, ensuring reduction pathways outlined in the Roadmap are delivered ensuring carbon reductions are achieved.

The role of Information Security Officer is an existing role in TII. Successful applicants can expect a challenging, diverse and progressive environment. In any given year, TII is accountable for the management, oversight and delivery of a wide portfolio of projects, programmes and operations across Ireland’s national roads and light rail public transport networks. The Light Rail network relies on 11 principal asset categories / groups (e.g. structures, track, control & communications systems and power installations) with different characteristics and deterioration mechanisms, with a cu-mulative value in the region of €1bn.

The Head of Digital Transformation is a senior leadership role responsible for driving change through digital innovation and data-centric decision-making across our national transport infrastructure and services (Roads, Light Rail, Metro, Greenways). This role will be responsible for spearheading and supervising the initiatives of digital transformation within TII. This role is crucial in leveraging digital technologies that align with TII’s strategic goals, optimising TII’s capital programme, operations and asset management, improving customer experience and ensuring TII remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the transportation industry.
